- Top; 4oz + 6oz Hexcel Premium E-Glass
RESIN: ISO 10X Resin
FLEX: Our most flexible construction
WEIGHT: Heavier than our EPS constructions
DING RESISTANCE: Relative to other PU boards ours are some of the toughest. Not as ding resistant as our Eco Base and EPS constructions
ECO BASE Construction Info:
Made from the same core blank as our Base construction, but with a heavier weight glass job for added durability and finished in the ground breaking Resin Research Bio Resin Epoxy
BLANK: SOLARMADE US Blanks PU
GLASS: Under 6'4"
- Bottom; 6oz Hexcel Premium E-Glass
- Top; 4oz + 6oz Hexcel Premium E-Glass
GLASS: Over 6'4"
- Bottom; 6oz Hexcel Premium E-Glass
- Top; 4oz + 6oz Hexcel Premium E-Glass
RESIN: Resin Research Bio Resin Epoxy
FLEX: Middle of the ground flexibility, not as much flex as our Base or Flex Tech, but more than our toughest F1X construction
WEIGHT: Our heaviest construction
DING RESISTANCE: After our F1X construction this is the second toughest we do. That extra glassing really doing its job
ESE Construction Info:
Simple, quality, and highly effective. Our ESE utilises US Blanks Superfused EPS in its purest form, with just some carbon fibre re-enforcement along the black stringer to give it some extra pop
BLANK: SOLARMADE US Blanks Superfused EPS
GLASS: Under 6'4" & Over 6'4"
- Bottom; 4oz + 4oz Hexcel Premium E & S-Glass
- Top; 4oz + 4oz Hexcel Premium E & S-Glass + Carbon Stringer Re-enforcement
RESIN: Resin Research Epoxy
FLEX: Middle of the ground flexibility, not as much flex as our Base or Flex Tech, but more than our toughest F1X construction
WEIGHT: One of our lightest constructions with only the Flex Tech construction lighter
DING RESISTANCE: Middle of the ground toughness, showing stronger ding resistance than our Base and Flex Tech, but not as much as our ECO Base or F1X constructions
FLEX TECH Construction Info:
Similar to the ESE but with the addition of a PU stringer that adds both flex and damping. Despite being our lightest construction it rides with a smoother feel not normally associated with EPS
BLANK: SOLARMADE US Blanks Superfused EPS with PU Stringer
GLASS: Under 6'4" & Over 6'4"
- Bottom; 4oz + 4oz Hexcel Premium E & S-Glass
- Top; 4oz + 4oz Hexcel Premium E & S-Glass + Carbon Stringer Re-enforcement
RESIN: Resin Research Epoxy
FLEX: After our Base construction this is the next most flexible
WEIGHT: Our lightest construction
DING RESISTANCE: Similar to ESE with middle of the ground toughness, showing stronger ding resistance than our Base, but not as much as our ECO Base or F1X constructions
F1X Construction Info:
Similar to the Flex Tech construction with its PU stringer but with an additional layer of INNEGRA fibre making it our toughest construction
BLANK: SOLARMADE US Blanks Superfused EPS with PU Stringer
GLASS: Under 6'4" & Over 6'4"
- Bottom; 4oz + 4oz Hexcel Premium E & S-Glass
- Top; (4oz + 4oz Hexcel Premium E-Glass) + INNEGRA fibre layer
RESIN: Resin Research Epoxy
FLEX: The strength of this construction means that it also has the least flex
WEIGHT: Despite its strength it is lighter than both our Base and ECO Base constructions, but heavier than ESE and Flex Tech constructions
DING RESISTANCE: Our toughest construction, both in terms of ding resistance and life time durability
The concept of the B.P. Pro started with adaptations of the B.P. Mini. Harty had shaped the B.P. Mini for himself, but wanted to go harder, push further and really see what his best surfing looked like on a smaller board. The B.P. Pro was born. In that respect it's a chiselled down version of the B.P. Mini that holds better, surfs tighter and delivers more performance, especially in better waves.
The outline maintains the D.N.A of the B.P. Mini with the same elliptical qualities giving the best balance between hold, drive, stability and pivot. The further pulled in nose and tail adds responsiveness, quicker transitions, and more control in the pocket.
The rocker is slightly increased, but its not high compared to a performance shortboard. It does have tail kick though, which when combined with the flat mid section extension through the entry gives the B.P. Pro a shortboard feel. With mid length rails that is.
The foil is that of a shortboard, foam is carried through the deck lines and outlines. The idea is to surf this board off the tail and aggressively sothere is no excess foam in the nose hindering the performance especially at faster speeds. That bit of extra length however means that it still paddles great.
The rails are shortboard vibes all day. sharp in the back and rolling through to a 60/40 as it transitions to the nose. The rails are forgiving but will certainly hold in the face if you push it. If we haven't made it clear already, this board feels like a shortboard, but just easier.
The bottom contours are a carbon copy of the Bp Mini, vee nose, into a single and then double concave with a touch of vee out the tail but nothing severe. The result is a loose board with plenty of lift and drive and an ability to maintain speed with minimal effort.
For fins its strictly thruster with the Bp Pro and I we love the h4 template from FCS. We would go as far as to say that the H4's feel like they were made for this board.
When it comes to construction all of them work well for this board. Given its shortboard nature however we tend to lean towards the EPS constructions, especially our Flex Tech.
If you have done the mid-length thing and now you want to rip harder with all the benefits of a mid then you need the B.P. Pro in your life. Watch what the Fourth team riders on this board, they love it and that speaks volumes. It's fast, lively, loose and will be the easiest high performance board you have ever surfed!
