It's part progressive mid length and part revolution. Despite being a board for every surfer the BP Mini is not your normal mid-length. It packs just about as much shortboard performance as its possible to get into a surfboard that is 6'6 and above and will have you hitting lips in a way you did not think possible in a board this big.

  • Top; 4oz + 6oz Hexcel Premium E-Glass

RESIN: ISO 10X Resin

FLEX: Our most flexible construction

WEIGHT: Heavier than our EPS constructions

DING RESISTANCE: Relative to other PU boards ours are some of the toughest. Not as ding resistant as our Eco Base and EPS constructions

ECO BASE Construction Info:

Made from the same core blank as our Base construction, but with a heavier weight glass job for added durability and finished in the ground breaking Resin Research Bio Resin Epoxy

BLANK: SOLARMADE US Blanks PU

GLASS: Under 6'4"

  • Bottom; 6oz Hexcel Premium E-Glass
  • Top; 4oz + 6oz Hexcel Premium E-Glass

GLASS: Over 6'4"

  • Bottom; 6oz Hexcel Premium E-Glass
  • Top; 4oz + 6oz Hexcel Premium E-Glass

RESIN: Resin Research Bio Resin Epoxy

FLEX: Middle of the ground flexibility, not as much flex as our Base or Flex Tech, but more than our toughest F1X construction

WEIGHT: Our heaviest construction

DING RESISTANCE: After our F1X construction this is the second toughest we do. That extra glassing really doing its job

ESE Construction Info:

Simple, quality, and highly effective. Our ESE utilises US Blanks Superfused EPS in its purest form, with just some carbon fibre re-enforcement along the black stringer to give it some extra pop

BLANK: SOLARMADE US Blanks Superfused EPS

GLASS: Under 6'4" & Over 6'4"

  • Bottom; 4oz + 4oz Hexcel Premium E & S-Glass
  • Top; 4oz + 4oz Hexcel Premium E & S-Glass + Carbon Stringer Re-enforcement

RESIN: Resin Research Epoxy

FLEX: Middle of the ground flexibility, not as much flex as our Base or Flex Tech, but more than our toughest F1X construction

WEIGHT: One of our lightest constructions with only the Flex Tech construction lighter

DING RESISTANCE: Middle of the ground toughness, showing stronger ding resistance than our Base and Flex Tech, but not as much as our ECO Base or F1X constructions

FLEX TECH Construction Info:

Similar to the ESE but with the addition of a PU stringer that adds both flex and damping. Despite being our lightest construction it rides with a smoother feel not normally associated with EPS

BLANK: SOLARMADE US Blanks Superfused EPS with PU Stringer

GLASS: Under 6'4" & Over 6'4"

  • Bottom; 4oz + 4oz Hexcel Premium E & S-Glass
  • Top; 4oz + 4oz Hexcel Premium E & S-Glass + Carbon Stringer Re-enforcement

RESIN: Resin Research Epoxy

FLEX: After our Base construction this is the next most flexible

WEIGHT: Our lightest construction

DING RESISTANCE: Similar to ESE with middle of the ground toughness, showing stronger ding resistance than our Base, but not as much as our ECO Base or F1X constructions

F1X Construction Info:

Similar to the Flex Tech construction with its PU stringer but with an additional layer of INNEGRA fibre making it our toughest construction

BLANK: SOLARMADE US Blanks Superfused EPS with PU Stringer

GLASS: Under 6'4" & Over 6'4"

  • Bottom; 4oz + 4oz Hexcel Premium E & S-Glass
  • Top; (4oz + 4oz Hexcel Premium E-Glass) + INNEGRA fibre layer

RESIN: Resin Research Epoxy

FLEX: The strength of this construction means that it also has the least flex

WEIGHT: Despite its strength it is lighter than both our Base and ECO Base constructions, but heavier than ESE and Flex Tech constructions

DING RESISTANCE: Our toughest construction, both in terms of ding resistance and life time durability

The concept for the B.P. Mini was to create a board for a host of different surfers. A board for long time shortboarders who are fed up with single-figure wave counts but still want to surf dynamically; a board for mid-length enthusiasts who miss the sensation of a tight turn in the pocket; a board for longboarders who want something they can fit in the car and ride more easily in hollower waves; a board for anyone struggling with water time and fitness… and the list goes on and on. It is the ultimate swiss army knife mid-length which is why it is one of our most popular boards.

The outline is bullet shaped with a hip in the tail the rail extension that flows into a rounded yet pulled in nose. This is to allow pivot in the back half of the board without too much nose or swing weight tying you into a longer drawn out turn. You can be acute and dynamic on the Bp Mini and that's what makes it such an impressive and versatile mid-length.

The rocker is designed to let you surf of the back foot without slowing the board down, as per the concept, like a big shortboard. You have a tail kick, into flat bottom, then a gradual lift into the entry rocker. So you stand up, sink your foot over the fins and drive the board from there. This is what makes it such a dynamic board to surf.

The foil is consistent visually with a standard high performing shortboard, not too much shoved forward and only foam where it is needed to create the best balance between stability and control.

The rails are shortboard-esq, flowing from a hard edge in the tail to a 60/40 rail through the mid point which pinches slightly as it lifts into the nose. This means you can actually engage with the face of the wave. Turns are like butter and control is always there when you want it. The Bp Mini is reactive, yet incredibly forgiving, making it a really easy board to surf and again, incredibly versatility.

The bottom contours are a flat vee in the nose, to a single then double concave finishing in a slight vee behind the back fin. This gives you lovely rail to rail poise and sensitivity as well as all the lift you will need to surf the board off the back foot.

The fin set up is a 5 fin to give options. We love the thruster set up with the fcs h4's. You can however, chuck a quad in it and get creative. It's grindy and offers a bit more drive which is perfect in more flat faced waves. Don't get hung up on which is best though, it's subjective on this board and both set ups offer slightly different ways around the same objective - Easy fun.

As for construction you cannot go wrong with the ESE or Flex Tech construction when it comes to dynamic surfing for this board. The Base and Eco Base constructions are still epic though, and better suited for more cruise and a trim.

The B.P. Mini became an instant classic! It suits everyone and will go in literally anything. So if you need that spark back into your surfing whilst catching loads of waves, the B.P. Mini is the board you need. If you only have one board for the rest of your life, this is the one. Amen.
